The major section of tea's bush that is useable is plant's leaves and this has a
particular importance from an economical view. Final quality of produced tea is
dependent on its composing material, the bud begins to grow because of different
pruning especially yearly pruning from leafs, which is remained from the
previous year. There is a difference between the appearances of first leaf that
appears on these buds and leaves that appeared later. So that these leaves are
very small with flat edges and without cog at the end of them, which is round.
This leaf in Indian language "Janam"and second leaf Gol-pat or round leaf are
called Ceylon's farmer named fish form leaf to "janam." After first appearance,
the first leaf usually grows 5 ordinary leaf that their appearance are different
from first leaf, so these leafs are wide with a sharp tip and their appearance
is elongated, edges is covered by tiny cog in spiral form which is existed
around the stem, so these five leaf turning twice around the stem, which result
in the sixth leaf appearing at the top of first leaf, so this way of locating
leafs on the stem is called 5-2.
This plant's leaves are alternative, simple, toothed, mostly without fluff and
in a dark green color, also this is always green. 4-6 days are necessary for
one young leaf to bud. In some young branches, a number of last bushes stopped
their growing without passing alternating periods and contribute their life in
resting these kind of branches are called sterile because they don’t produce new
branches and leaves and one or two leaves, which grow on the short branch
behind this bushes, isn't useable to produce tea because of its thickness. After
passing one resting period, sterile bushes grow again, so that janam and Gol-pat
at first and then appears other five leaf.In the initial days, because of consuming reserving material within bushes, the
plant's growth will be quick. After 2 to 3 months, the leaf’s activity will
begin to produce food material and reserve in leafs. By the beginning of the
spring season, growth and activation of bushes will have started. In this
